Baseline Testing
In the past 10-15 years, concussion awareness and the lack of quality injury management has become a hot topic. What was once ignored as an athlete getting their “bell rung” has now progressed to more accurate medical diagnosing, allowing for a reduction in the most traumatic effect of concussions - Second-Impact Syndrome (SIS). SIS can occur when there is re-injury before an athlete fully recovers from an initial concussion. Concussions not properly managed can lead to long term neurological damage or death.
Baseline Concussion Testing
Computerized Baseline Testing has become a critical component in concussion management. By testing your brain’s ability before an injury (baseline), your medical doctor can use a follow up injury test to help identify the extent of your injury and when it is safe to return to sport. This baseline testing has long been required by professional and collegiate sports teams but not widely available to all athletes engaging in sports, thus neglecting the medical needs of young athletes.
So why is one brain considered more

This was our question. Research suggests young minds are not only more susceptible to concussions, but the effects can be more severe on long term brain development.
