Anthony Russomanno

General Manager

Anthony is an expert in the field of college admissions, test preparation and athletic recruiting. He has been a coach, trainer, teacher, and counselor at the high school, club, college and youth sports levels for over 20 years. Anthony was born and raised in New Jersey where he was a 3-sport athlete at Marlboro HS earning All-County and All-Conference in soccer, basketball and baseball as well as All-State in soccer. At UC Irvine, a DI university, he earned soccer team captain and MVP honors twice, All Conference and Big West Scholar Athlete of the Year. Anthony earned his BA from UCI in Psychology then a Masters in Clinical Psychology from which he began a counseling career with a main focus of helping children and adolescents through psychological and emotional transitions. He later turned to bring educational counseling to the forefront of college admissions at a top education company for 15+ years. Not only did he help individual students but he also managed partnerships with athletic groups such as the NFL and NCSA, creating alliances with organizations that were also committed to providing valuable benefits to promote member education, loyalty, and satisfaction. He followed that as a strategy consultant for prep and admissions companies helping them build better business practices.  Anthony is a frequent presenter at high schools, colleges and conferences and has helped thousands of students (including athletes) over his years. He now serves as the College and Career Coordinator of the Capistrano Unified School District. Anthony’s excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and counseling skills make him a highly skilled and sought after counselor and advisor.

Throughout all these 25+ years, he also nurtured his passion for coaching as a head coach, trainer, or assistant at Fountain Valley HS, Cypress HS, Wolfpack Soccer Club, UC Irvine Men’s Soccer, and San Clemente AYSO Extra as well as the director at many sports and soccer camps. But it was during his time as a college athlete that he had his first direct experience with concussions. He incurred over 20 concussions through his collegiate and post college career with soccer and baseball (as he was an aggressive player always in the mix). Most notably was during a game against San Diego State where he was concussed so hard that he was taken to the emergency room and was diagnosed with amnesia. The effects of the following months were brutal and could have been avoided with the proper testing and protocols but back then, there was nothing to protect the athlete…if you wanted to play, you played. His experience with head trauma still affects him today. He knows he should have never been allowed on the field his senior season. These experiences inspired him to get involved to protect youth athletes so they will know how to “play it safe.”

Anthony believes in the business maxim of “doing well by doing good.” He currently resides in San Clemente, CA with wife Corinne and his two children, Anthony Jr. and Benjamin.
